Since we decided to write about ā€œAround the world šŸŒā€ this week on the blog, I chose to talk to you about world cuisine.

As you already know, I am a food lover so it's clearly easy to know that I am very open culinary (but let’s not grow granny in nettles either, octopus, snake or insects, really not for me)

What I’m offering you is to take a seat on board our company, fasten your seat belt, we’re about to take off. Get ready for one of the best culinary trips of your life !

Welcome aboard "YDD Airlines", whose only safety advice is to relax. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything ! šŸ˜‰

  • AKWABA Ā«Welcome to the IvoriansĀ» šŸ‡ØšŸ‡®

For our first stopover, we set foot on the land of elephants 🐘, Ivory Coast šŸ‡ØšŸ‡®.

If you’ve been following my first culture article, I’ve already shown you the beauty of this country (if you haven’t, this is the place šŸ‘‰šŸ¾ https://bit.ly/3NyPzzP )

But today we’re here to talk about food šŸ˜‹, so let me introduce you to the "Foutou banane"

It's a dish made from plantains, boiled and then tossed with a mortar; and ends up forming balls as illustrated above šŸ‘†šŸ¾

Some people often add cassava, but it’s still optional.

So, once the balls is made, it can be accompanied by different sauces based on okra, peanut paste (or dakatine), or soups.

If you get a chance to taste it, jump on it, you'll thank me šŸ˜‰

  • BIENVINI MATINIK: Welcome to Martinique

Come on, take off now šŸ›« and here we are a few thousand kilometres away for our second stop. Direction… Martinique šŸŒ“ā˜€ļøšŸŒŠ. Annou ay (let’s go) !

Martinique, the flower island 🌺, but not only. I'll make you a short article very soon on this island of the Caribbean that has many things to discover, but for now let’s focus on the initial topic, food 🤤.

So allow me to introduce you to one of the culinary specialties of Martinique: "Le trempage".

The typical dishes of Martinique are generally very generous šŸ¤—, but what then about this dish that is "Le trempage". It's both rich and spectacular 🤩. If I had to summarize it in a few words, I would say that it's a mixture of foods associated with cod, banana, avocado and stale bread (soggy and crumbled).

It appears directly on banana leaves (installed on a large table) and is eaten with fingers 🤌, standing, one hand behind the back (here no plate or cutlery).

In addition to the base, mentioned above, we find regularly associated with trempage, seafood such as shrimp, crayfish, ciriques (small crabs native to the West Indies) or chicken.

During your next stay in Martinique, do not hesitate to live this unique culinary experience šŸ˜‰.

  • Tabarnak!

I know you’re already full, but it’s not over yet!

Third destination, it’s up to you to guess where we plan to put our suitcases 🧳

Normally if you read the title, you know it!

Yes, here we are in caribou country, in maple country šŸ, here we are in Canada šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦, my country of heart ā™„ļø

Aside from the mentality, lifestyle and Tim Hortons (fast food like Starbucks) in this country, there is one thing I love, "La Poutine".

And yet, I’m not a fan of fries šŸŸ (yes I know, it’s not common), but "poutine"... Aaaaah! Just talking about it, I can’t get enough of it 🤤

If you don’t already know, I’ll explain quickly, it’s not complicated.

A French fry base šŸŸ, a poutine sauce that I don’t know the recipe šŸ™„ (it must be easily found on the net); one or more proteins (meat, fish, egg or soy for vegetarians šŸ„ššŸ–šŸ ) and end with cheese curds šŸ§€ (Couic couic cheese, that’s what they call it. It’s just fresh white cheddar).

Explained like that, it doesn’t sound crazy, but you have to taste to understand 😌

  • Allons enfant de la patriiiiie ! (French national anthem)

We couldn't finish this article without talking about our dear France šŸ‡«šŸ‡· !

Aaaaah France, a country with such great culinary richness; ham and butter sandwich, Paris Brest, veal blanquette… I could name so many, but we’d never finish.

Today, I present to you my favorite dish (from grandma šŸ‘µšŸ¼) : "Le Coq au vin šŸ·šŸ”"

You take a rooster, you cut it up and you marine it. Then you cook it in red wine with a bouquet garni, carrots šŸ„•, mushrooms šŸ„ and bacon šŸ„“. It’s really not complicated, you will find recipes quite easy on the internet.

In most cases, it is tasted with rice but made with your sauce, Bro ! Because no matter the accompaniment, it's šŸ‘Œ

This culinary journey is coming to an end.

I hope you had a pleasant stay with us. We look forward to seeing you again on ā€œYDD Airlinesā€ šŸ‘©ā€āœˆļø in the near future!
