A queen's plate ! 👸🏼

Still with the idea of paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II (Lilie for intimates), you are supposed to understand what we are going to talk about today (if not… euuh… I can’t help you!)

Soooooo let’s talk about typical English food. I’m sure you know some or you’ve already eaten some, but as we have to tell you everything here.

Despite the fact that she has a bad reputation, there are still little pearl.

So, let us cease hostilities and begin !

  • The English breakfast

With smoked sausages, poached eggs, crispy bacon, tomatoes and breadcrumbs, mushrooms, beans, potatoes, etc. They've the bible of the salty breakfast but I confess that the beans at breakfast, very little for me !

  • Bénédict eggs

So just the name, I'm hungry. Nothing simpler, poached eggs, bacon, hollandaise sauce and English muffins, a pleasure.

  • Stew

You’ve never heard of it? I confess that I haven’t either.

This is the English version of "Pot au feu" (stewed lamb or beef with vegetables and a spice sauce).

  • Fish and Chips

Classic and international, this dish is appreciated by everyone (except me 😅).

Fish and chips, nothing simpler.

  • Chicken Pie

As its name suggests, Pie filled with ground chicken, mushrooms and parsley.

  • Fishcake

Mixture of fish and potato, covered with breadcrumbs and cooked in oil; and presented as meatballs.

  • Crumble

Even if it has become a classic in France, it is indeed English. With caramelized fruit and crunchy breadcrumbs, a killer, I swear !

  • Pudding

A classic ! If we say English food, we must think about it. A fruit cake with ginger, served hot with custard.

  • Jelly

I end with this “trick” (sorry I don’t know how else to call it) that I absolutely can’t swallow…

Very strange dessert. Fruit juice mixed with gelatin and has the consistency of a flan.

That’s it for today! There are still many specialties but I have to make it short so you don’t get bored.

Just one last word: enjoy your food !
